With limited amounts of snowfall over the season in Falls Creek, the Burton Australian Open has been called off.
You might think that Australia's too hot for snowboarding, and in fact, the hottest recorded temperature was an egg-frying 50.7°C. But Oz experiences subzero temperatures as well, getting down to -23°C at Charlotte's Pass in the snowfields of the Great Dividing Range.
And as for snow, in the 1960s, Australia experienced some epic powder days with falls of over 3.5 metres - so keep 'em crossed for next year.
